About us

II systems Ltd .started out over 35 years ago to produce and supply intumescent fire seals to the construction industry. Intumescent seals are used to seal gaps around fire doors in the event of a fire, and in the early years that was all we supplied. These specialised seals became necessary as the Building Regulations changed after the “Stardust” fire.

As a result of our involvement with fire door manufacturers we supplied seals to many of Ireland’s leading projects over this time. We supplied seals to Intel Ltd, School of Engineering at UCD Belfield, Tallaght Hospital, Liberty Hall, Financial Services Centre, and many more.

In 1997 we diversified and started to sell seals that are used in the draught proofing of sash windows. Up to this time the upgrading of old sash windows was only possible through a subcontractor who would supply and fit the seals. We made the seals available to people who wanted to fit them themselves. This has been such a success that we now have a full range of ironmongery to complement the seals. Our sash window products have been supplied to Castletown House, Dublin Castle, Garda Headquarters, Trinity College, Farmleigh and Castlemartyr Hotel in Cork to name but a few.

Over time more and more members of the public have made enquiries about buying our various seals. As a result of these enquiries, and with the current emphasis on insulation and Building Energy Rating, we decided that the time was right to launch a website with a view to selling our range of draught sealing solutions direct to the public.
